Workforce Rights for the Early Learning and Child Care Sector

ECE Workforce Rights project aims to assess the workforce crisis and identify and advocate for solutions. It begins with the belief that Canada’s children deserve a professional, resourced, and well compensated workforce. In collaboration with partners, the project will focus on identifying the policy guidelines that can strengthen employment experiences to help attract and retain qualified educators, particularly those working in licensed child care. Achieving legislated Workforce Rights with enforceable standards would provide early childhood educators with recourse to address inadequate working conditions. Ultimately, governments would be obligated to fund and support the workforce to meet the standards. More to come.
