Donna Heslin - Building regional innovation partnerships that work: The City of Mississauga
Increasingly, there has been a growing interest in cultivating innovative partnerships between post-secondary institutions and its surrounding community organizations. This meaningful relationship, when successfully implemented, can result in valuable community engagement and learning opportunities.
Donna Heslin will present a case study of a successful innovation partnership within Mississauga, that includes collaborative stakeholders from the municipal government, the post-secondary institutions, the Regional Innovation Centre and numerous industry partners.
She will share the underpinnings of how this partnership has developed over the past several decades, as well as identify the influence this partnership has as an innovative player both nationally and internationally.
About the speaker
Donna Heslin
Donna began her Ph.D studies in Higher Education in 2015. Her research interests are in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation within Canadian post-secondary institutions.
Donna is currently the Assistant Director of External Relations for the Institute of Management & Innovation (IMI) at the U of T Mississauga (UTM). Donna is also Director of !CUBE, the campus linked entrepreneurship space at (UTM).
